Safety in the dairy industry

Cronobacter spp. in milk is particularly dangerous for neonates. The new EN ISO 22964:2017 also includes Cronobacter spp. and Merck has introduced Cronobacter Selective Broth to enable customers to follow the new ISO norm.

Merck also has a standardized method EN 13805:2002 for the determination of trace elements in milk.

Adulteration in milk has led to several scandals in the past. Merck has a HILIC-MS/MS method to detect nitrogen-rich adulterants in food.
