Portable contamination test system, Speedy Breedy
Monitoring Systems Hygiene Monitoring Systems
Speedy Breedy is used to determine levels of contamination or sterility in a wide range of applications across multiple markets including water, healthcare, food and drink, nutraceuticals, brewing, industrial, research, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and marine. Speedy Breedy is a single (test versus control or aerobic plus anaerobic), or dual sample, two chamber portable instrument weighing just three kilos. Speedy Breedy maintains culture conditions within purpose designed, disposable culture vessels. Samples are inoculated through an injection septum or introduced via the sample port in the culture vessel where Speedy Breedy closely controls growth conditions to a pre-determined protocol in order to facilitate rapid replication of cells or microbes. Customers can buy culture vessels that have been populated with a variety of encapsulated, selective media which means that when used with the associated protocol Speedy Breedy can test for the presence or absence of specific micro-organisms. There is an ever growing range of culture vessel products for Speedy Breedy that include solutions for E. coli, coliforms, Salmonella, Listeria, Vibrio, Lactobacillus and Pediococcus. Total Viable Counts (TVC), Pseudomonas, Enterococci, Yeasts (with an additional solution for Wild Yeasts in brewing), Clostridium and Staphylococcus. Speedy Breedy can be used independently or connected to a PC. When connected to a PC Speedy Breedy also interprets test results and shows the correlation between the degree of contamination and time to detection. This provides users with an enumeration function, which together with a calibration curve provides an estimated number of Colony Forming Units (CFU) present in the original sample.
