Spiral Platers
The principle of the Spiral method is to spread a defined, decreasing quantity of sample on a Petri dish, using an Archimedean spiral. The purpose of this method is to inoculate several dilution factors on a single Petri dish. This allows a significant reduction in the number of dilutions performed and dishes used. The Eddy Jet 2 spiral plater, microprocessor-controlled with a touch screen and intuitive software, uses a patented process for transfer and plating of samples in a logarithmic or linear spiral with sterile disposable syringes. The types of spiral corresponding to the most common procedures are pre-programmed (22 different distributions). Standard procedure: Automatic uptake of the sterile disposable syringe, taking the sample from its beaker, automatically depositing the sample on the Petri dish, disposal of the used syringe into the waste container. The same sample may be subjected to various procedures on several dishes using a single-use syringe. The Eddy Jet 2 spiral plater has the same features as the Eddy Jet spiral plater:

  • Motor with four high-precision phases: turntable speed, syringe projection, syringe movement and uptake
  • Does not require rinsing with disinfectant or water
  • Calibration program easy to run for all users
  • No possibility of sample contamination
  • No vacuum pump or waste flask necessary

Also offers the following benefits: Great connectivity (Ethernet connection, 2 USB ports and 2 RS232 ports for connection to a printer or a barcode reader) and intuitive control on touch screen with icons.

Delivery information: Eddy-Jet 2 basic device with 9 cm rotating dish, 1000 sterile single-use syringes, 1000 beakers.
